Project details presented by Leon Sampat, LS Architects.  Presented details on the condition of the building, location, and potential future plans.

Karl Brunjes shared details on the history of the location and possible consideration of a historic district. Perhaps consider using storefront renovation to rehab the building.

 

Jeremy Taylor, new Executive Director of SCSDC, is available to state support for Karl Brunjes' recommendation to do a site visit before further consideration of demolition.

There is no specific plan provided for development at this time.  The timeline for owner is 1-2 years before construction begins on an approximately 2,000 sf expansion of retail & laundromat.

Applicant was asked to provide the following:

A more complete site plan that illustrates 1) meeting parking screening requirements

2) Frontage requirement details

3) A photometric lighting plan.  The current lights flood the streets and can be considered a public and safety nuisance.  Look into disconnecting some of the lights and/or redirecting them.

4) Provide a landscape plan for the site.

 

Applicant will return information to be distributed to Committee Members. Applicant will confirm with City Planning to be rescheduled for Planning Commission on June 17th or another date.

Kim Scott was in attendance for City Planning.
